WHAT IS A CUE CARD?
In the IELTS speaking test, the candidate is required to speak on a topic for about 1 to 2 minutes. The pattern of IELTS exam is designed to check the understanding level of English. The important thing to keep in mind that the topic given in IELTS speaking test cannot be changed. With the speaking topic, 3 to 4 cues are provided which helps candidates to answer the question to the point.

I love to visit famous sites whenever I get free time. I visit places which have a special appeal to me. I have visited many historical places, but the one which I would like to talk about is Taj Mahal, which is one of the ancient monument in India. It is situated in Agra on the south bank of Yamuna river. I know about the Taj Mahal in history subject when I was in school, but I know better about it when I visited there with my friends. It is one of the seven wonders of the world, in fact, it has been ranked as the first of the seven wonders. It is a magnificent building made up of white marble. Around 20,000 workers put in their best efforts for 17 long years to complete this Masterpiece. It was commissioned in 1632 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Also, the house of the tomb of Shah Jahan was there. When I first saw it, I was fascinated by the picturesque beauty of it. At night, Taj Mahal seems extremely beautiful. I like it because it gives an identity to India in the world. Moreover, I think it is important because it illustrates the story of Shahjahan’s love towards his wife, Mumtaz. Tourists from all over the world flock to see this ultimate memorial of love.
