You recently met a manager from a new company that has just opened in your town. After the meeting, he wrote to you to offer you a job in this new company. However, you want to stay in your present job.
Write a letter to the manager. In your letter,
- Thank him for the offer
- Explain why you want to stay in the present job
- Recommend a friend for the job in the new company
Dear Sir,
Greetings! This letter is being written to seek an apology for the inability to accept your offer. Unfortunately, I want to continue with the current employer.
It is a matter of pride and honour to work as a manager. I am really thankful for your generosity in considering me. However, currently, two years of contact has been signed with the employer and adhering to professional code of conduct, it is ethically wrong to resign without any reasons. Besides, legal actions can be taken to retain an employee by the organization. In fact, the most intrinsic part of working with “Developer” is the professional attitude of all employees and senior management, which suits my personality.
However, one of my friends “Dave” is looking for a change, and he has similar experience and professional skills to mine. Thus, it would be best to consider him for this position. The address has been enclosed with this letter and email id is “dave@abc.com”.
Kindly accept my apologies for refusing this offer. Hoping for a better relationship in the future.
Warm regards,
Benjamin Stokes.
