It is argued that monetary consideration is an important aspect when someone opts to work in an organisation, while others say that working condition in a company is more vital. While a higher remuneration helps people to have a good lifestyle, I believe that the culture of the company makes life better.
On the one hand, the supporters of the prior viewpoint say that higher pay will enable them to have a decent living standard. This is to say that if they have a good income, they will be able to provide amenities such as a good house, a luxury car, a dream vacation and so on. Consequently, they can make their family happy. For example, a recent study by Cambridge University found that 40% of people who earned more than $50000 per annum were more likely to afford more things as compared to average paid people which made their families happy. However, I do not agree with this school of thought because a high income can only provide material things.
On the other hand, the advocates of the latter viewpoint opine that it is worth focusing on the ethos of a company has. This is because in a good working atmosphere, people will be able to make a balance in work and life, and they will live a less stressful life. It will enable people to give more time to their family. To illustrate, I work in a reputed company, and there is a weekend off in the organisation so that all workers in the organisation have a healthy relationship with their family. Therefore, I believe this school of thought is preferable as people can find a balance in their life.
In conclusion, although high payscale can provide people with materialistic things, I believe that workplace culture is far more important to live a better life.
