WHAT IS A CUE CARD?
In the IELTS speaking test, the candidate is required to speak on a topic for about 1 to 2 minutes. The pattern of IELTS exam is designed to check the understanding level of English. The important thing to keep in mind that the topic given in IELTS speaking test cannot be changed. With the speaking topic, 3 to 4 cues are provided which helps candidates to answer the question to the point.

Explain why it is important for your family
Well, there is a prevalent custom in India to preserve the belongings of our forefathers as a mark of reverence and respect. There are many utility objects belonging to different people in my family lineage retained by us. On that note, there is an exotic dining table that has been in our family for generations.
There have been many objects that have been replaced in our house, but this dining table has been declaring its proud presence in our dining area for 72 years now. Although it has undergone minor reparation work, it is still going strong and is actively utilised by us for having our daily meals.
To recall, it was actually commissioned by my great great grandfather, somewhere around the 1920s. It is made of Indian Rosewood and is oval in shape with a giant seating capacity of 12 people. I must say, it is hands down the best dining table that I have ever come across as it was customised and handmade for us, making it difficult to replicate. Moreover, the material is so seasoned and flawless that it has remained scratch free even after constant use since its creation.
Anyway, I think it will remain in our home forever as we all love it and it is my favourite furniture. Also, it holds great emotional value for us as it was made by my great great grandfather with lots of love for his family and generations to come.
