Sample Answer:
- Well, all the inventions made in the 21st century have entirely changed the lives of people.
- Some of them are electricity, transportation, computers, internet and so on.
- But here, I would like to mention an invention which has tremendously changed people’s way of living.
- This is a mobile phone.
- With the invention of the mobile phone, now the world is more connected than ever.
- It has made people’s lives easier in terms of work and personal relationships.
- Suppose if someone’s relatives live far away, one can get in touch with them through a phone call or message.
- Even if they live a thousand miles away, with their mobile phones, they seem just a call-away.
- Moreover, mobile phones also help in avoiding many types of mishappening during any emergency situations.
- And if we talk about professional life, it has become possible to work or trade internationally from the comfort of the house because it is easy to communicate through mobile phones.
- It is very convenient to discuss any work-related issues or attend the meetings over the phone.
- Besides this, the other applications in mobile phones such as calculator, calendar, clock or maps have benefited the people a lot in their day-to-day life.
- If we talk about its importance, it is equally important to both younger and older people.
- For older people, mobile phones are the way of connecting to their relatives, friends or children who are living far away.
- However, for youngsters, it is the source of entertainment as well as communication.
- Overall, having a cell phone seems like having a world in the pocket.
Follow ups:
- How has technology made our life easier?
Technology has made life easier in many ways. Such as it has made it easier to communicate with anyone within or across the boundaries. Similarly, it has eased cooking, driving and working at home or office.
- Which invention do you think is the most useful at home?
I think at home, the invention of the washing machine is the most useful at home since washing clothes by hand takes an ample amount of time. And it becomes difficult to manage all the other household chores parallel to laundry.
- Is it more difficult for old people to accept new technologies?
Yes, it is difficult for old people to accept new technologies because firstly it is difficult for them to operate new technological gadgets. Moreover, they have their own ways of spending time which they have been using for many decades. So they cannot suddenly and entirely switch to the technological era.
- What can be done to help old people learn to make use of new technologies?
It is only possible if they will be taught regularly by the youngsters, how to make use of newer technologies. They may take more time to learn such things so younger people need to be more patient and calmer while teaching them.
- Will our life be better if we live without technology?
Well, I do not think so because with the help of technology, we tend to complete our work quickly and efficiently. But without technology, we will need more human effort, which will not only lead to exhaustion but will also lower productivity.
