WHAT IS A CUE CARD?
In the IELTS speaking test, the candidate is required to speak on a topic for about 1 to 2 minutes. The pattern of IELTS exam is designed to check the understanding level of English. The important thing to keep in mind that the topic given in IELTS speaking test cannot be changed. With the speaking topic, 3 to 4 cues are provided which helps candidates to answer the question to the point.

It is really interesting how some people impact your life in many ways. Today also I would talk about one such person who has positively influenced me and made a remarkable difference in my way of thinking. I am talking about Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna. I first saw Vikas Khanna as a judge in the reality cookery show MasterChef India. The moment I saw him on television, I was very keen to know more about him. He came across as a very humble, kind and sensitive person and had no airs about him in spite of being so famous across the world. There was something so endearing about him that I searched him on Google right after the first episode ended. He belongs to Amritsar, Punjab and completed his education there itself. He was born with a club foot which made it difficult for him to run till he was 13 years old. He overcame his deformity with sheer will and determination while everyone else had given up on him. His grandmother who was a very good cook inspired him and he spent a lot of time with her in the kitchen and this is how his love for food and cooking was born. He experimented with different recipes and added his own touch which gained him recognition from family and friends. At the age of 17, with only Rs. 15000/- in his pocket, he opened Lawrence Gardens banquets to host parties, functions and weddings. This venture was very successful and gave him much-desired exposure and encouragement to follow his passion and expand. While in India, he worked for some big and famous hotels such as the Taj and the Oberoi group. He shifted to New York and after working for some time, opened up his own restaurant. It is indeed overwhelming that he is the recipient of Michelin Star thrice. Based in New York, he was regarded as the hottest chef of America and was included in the People magazine in the list of sexiest men alive. He also had the privilege of hosting a dinner for a fundraiser at the White House, USA. His inspirational journey from a small-town boy to a well-known face across the world is no less than a fairy tale. He has worked his way up with his own hard work and focus. What I love about him is that despite his fame, he has stayed close to his roots and teaches us humility and kindness.
