The two maps illustrate the changes made to the outskirts of the town named Fosbury between the years 1982 and 2015. Overall, the area of Fosbury shown on the maps modernized and developed from 1980 to 2015. The 35-year period saw changes to the road layout and to the residential commercial and recreational facilities.
In terms of the road layout, the major change was the addition of a roundabout in the centre of this area, which required the demonstration of a block of flats and grocer’s shop. The residential accommodation underwent further changes with the removal of a street of traced houses on the right side of the map and the construction of additional housing on the left. New housing replaced the park, which was relocated to the other side of the road and decreased in size. By 2015, a supermarket with a car park had been erected on the site of the traced houses.
The areas industrialized further during the 35-years period with warehouses being put up where fields had been earlier. The areas of sporty facilities had also developed with new sporty centre facilities the place of the former tennis court. However, no changes were made to the hotel and row of houses to the top of the map.
