Some people think it is better to build new museums and town halls instead of renovating the old ones.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Museums are an insight into the rich cultural and traditional or historical heritage that a region or country possesses. Certain individuals are of opinion that it is more beneficial to construct new museums and town halls rather than refurbishing the existing ones. I strongly disagree with this view.
To commence with the reason for supporting this view is as follows. Firstly, the renovation of an existing museum or town hall is economical as compared to the cost involved in the construction of the new ones. Not only this, the old museums and town halls relate to the old-time and hold their own specific significance. Along with the artefacts, sculptures, paintings, that are preserved in museums the architecture of buildings also plays a pivotal role in understanding the culture and history of ancient times. Also, many historical events are associated with these places.
Besides this, it is nowadays seen that with the advent of technology and change in taste and preference of people, the entertainment needs of people’s preferences are deviating from museums which put the construction of new museums and town halls under the scanner. Lastly, for the construction of new museums or town halls, There is a need to require more space which will result in environmental degradation.
Discussing further, the better architecture of newly constructed museums and town halls will make it more eye-captivating, In addition to this, the system and security of the new museums and town halls can be upgraded which will help in preventing the damages during natural calamity.
To conclude it can be put forth that rather than constructing new museums and town halls it is better to renovate the old ones.
