Sample Answer:
- Well, we learn a lot of things during our lifetime some things we learn by ourself, many times we take classes from others.
- We start learning the day we are born and we don’t stop till the day we die.
- Here, I would like to talk about an important skill that I learned from my grandfather, which is communication skill.
- My grandfather is a retired principal, who has lifelong experience in teaching.
- He always tries his best to help out children in their studies.
- A couple of years back, when he got to know that I’m terrible at communicating with someone, he decided to improve my speaking skills.
- Actually, I couldn’t even speak properly with someone due to my nervousness and a lack of confidence.
- So, I started taking classes from him every day after my school hours.
- Initially, he used to teach me the basics of speaking, like introducing yourself, greeting someone, showing gestures, etc.
- I have to say, due to lack of confidence, it was very difficult for me to understand everything.
- But, thanks to my grandfather, who kept motivating me throughout the journey.
- At the same time, he suggested that I should concentrate on other essential areas, like voice modulation, body language, and eye contact, which play an important role in public speaking.
- I also used to practice in front of the mirror or with my grandfather, so I could gain confidence.
- After two months, I was able to see a dramatic improvement in my speaking, as I learned so many important things.
- Now, I am quite confident with my communication skills and I never miss any chance of beginning a conversation with someone.
- So, that was the skill that I acquired from my grandfather.
