Describe a time when you felt proud of a family member
-
When it happened?
-
Who is this person?
-
What the person did?
-
And explain why you felt proud of him or her?
- Family plays the most important role in everyone’s life as they stay together in happy and tough times.
- Here, I would like to talk about a time when my brother got a government job, which made me feel proud of him.
- Last year, he was able to crack an entrance exam in order to become a primary school teacher because of his hard work.
- If I talk about his journey to become a government employee, he did a lot of struggle and worked extremely hard.
- Although he was really good at studies, it still took him almost two years to get his dream job.
- He used to study all the time for this exam, like at night and on weekends.
- Besides, I used to attend classes at an institute, so he could receive some important tips and valuable knowledge about the exam.
- After three unsuccessful attempts, last time, he was luckily able to pass the exam with good marks, which eventually helped me to become a teacher.
- I have to say everyone in my family was over the moon because he was the very first person to get a government job.
- My family organized a small get together to celebrate their happy moments with over near and dear ones.
- I gave a wristwatch as a gift to my brother, which he really liked.
- My brother’s achievement and hard work really helped me to boost my confidence and also encouraged me to give my best to achieve my life goals.
- So, that was the time when I felt proud of my brother.
Follow ups
1:- When would parents feel proud of their children?
I think parents feel proud of their wards when they do something. They feel proud when their kids start walking or talking at an early age. They also feel proud when they embark on their school or college and give their best in studies and other activities. Moreover, when children start their first job their parents feel proud of them, as they start earning something.
2:- Should parents reward children? Why and how?
Yes, it’s a great idea to give rewards to children on certain occasions. Giving rewards would encourage them to put more effort in their studies and other activities, so they can achieve better results. But, instead of giving them materialistic things, they should go out with them for fun activities.
3:- On what occasions would adults be proud of themselves?
I believe adults should feel proud when they attain something in their life. There are many moments when they can feel proud like buying their home or getting a new job or to get promoted at the workplace.
