WHAT IS A CUE CARD?
In the IELTS speaking test, the candidate is required to speak on a topic for about 1 to 2 minutes. The pattern of IELTS exam is designed to check the understanding level of English. The important thing to keep in mind that the topic given in IELTS speaking test cannot be changed. With the speaking topic, 3 to 4 cues are provided which helps candidates to answer the question to the point.
Describe a person who you think is very open
You should say
- Who this person is
- How you know this person
- Why do you think this person is very open
- And explain how you feel about this person
Well, we live in a world where people have different attitudes to live their lives. There are people who are quite conservative and they do not like to share their views and opinions. There are some friends of mine who are quite open and do not hesitate to share their feelings.
Here I would like to talk about James. We met during college days. He is a good friend of mine. He is short and has an athletic body. He has good communication skills and therefore, many people consider him as a talkative person. He is a cheerful person and always has a positive attitude to approach new things. Because of his communication skills, he can talk deep and at length on a wide variety of topics.
He told me that he is an avid reader which enables him to talk on different topics. He has an enormous amount of knowledge about politics, society, music and so on. One of the best thing which I really like about him is that he does not hesitate to criticize someone’s bad habits and their wrong perception. I think it requires a lot of courage to be outspoken. Usually, he points out my short-comings which indeed are quite helpful to me. We have been friends since 2011 and I hope we will have a lifelong relationship.
All in all, he is a great person with open-mind and guts.
