- What are the differences between special food made in India and other countries?
Well, every nation has its own national foods. I think when we talk about special foods in India, we see a lot of variety can be found. This is because there are various states in India, and each state has its own favorite special foods. However, in other nations, culture and food ethics are the same in every part of the nation.
- Is there any food in your country eaten on special occasions or special times?
As I discussed, India is very big, special occasions also depend on which part of the country you are visiting. Take an example, people make special foods at festivals. Another example is people in Punjab who make Kheer and Saag and Makki Di Roti at the Magghi festival.
- Why are some people willing to spend a lot of money on meals on special days?
I think it is not about the money. This is because people want to have a get-together. This gives them a sense of satisfaction. Therefore, if they get satisfaction, I don’t think money is much important. Another reason could be family or cultural significance. For example, people in the West spend a lot on Christmas eve on special meals as a part of their culture.
- Do you think it’s good to communicate when eating with your family?
Well, if we talk from the perspective of a medical viewpoint, it is not good for health to talk during eating. However, when we look at the current situation, people spend time together when they are at the dining table. As far as my opinion is concerned, I think a mild conversation can be carried out as this would make a stronger bond between family members.
