Nowadays many people choose to be self-employed rather than to work for a company or organisation.
What might this be the case?
What could be the disadvantage of being self-employed?
In these days, many people opt to start their own venture instead of working in a company. This essay will suggest that the main reason for this is a low pay scale given to employees for working too long and the major disadvantage is the stress that they have to undergo on becoming employers.
The primary reason why many people choose to become entrepreneurs is that most organisations pay lower salaries to their employees for working in long shifts. On a daily basis, companies pressurize their workers to finish the assigned work before they leave to their homes. This results in them to think about becoming self-employed because they are not being compensated fairly for working overtime. For example, a recent study by Cambridge University found that nearly 20% of employees working in the private sector are being paid less and under extreme pressure of work, therefore, many are looking to open their own small ventures.
The major drawback of becoming entrepreneurs is that they might be under increased stress about their company’s operations. This is because they have to find work in the competitive market so that employees in organisations always have some work to do. Raising funds to pay salaries and conflicts in their company are extra stresses they have to bear. To illustrate, one of my friends recently opened a small venture and he shares with me about the struggle and stress he is facing while running a company.
In conclusion, the main reason why people are thinking to become employers is that a lower paygrade is given by companies for working long hours and the major disadvantage is the extra stress of the company’s work.
