WHAT IS A CUE CARD?
In the IELTS speaking test, the candidate is required to speak on a topic for about 1 to 2 minutes. The pattern of IELTS exam is designed to check the understanding level of English. The important thing to keep in mind that the topic given in IELTS speaking test cannot be changed. With the speaking topic, 3 to 4 cues are provided which helps candidates to answer the question to the point.
Describe a person who has apologized to you
- Who this person is?
- When did this happen?
- What this person said for apologizing?
- Explain how you felt about the apology?
Well, I believe that feeling sorry, for anything that is not done as it should, is not a sin. It actually makes you feel that you have accepted the truth that you have committed a mistake and you regret it.
A few weeks back, I was working with a team on an official assignment. We are five people in the team and it was quite important for us to work as per the milestones set by the manager. One of the team members, Mike, was not serious in completing his milestones.
Mike had to finish his work on the design and he was busy on phone calls. I was the team leader and I told him a number of times that in this way we will not be able to deliver the project on time. He assured me that he will complete his work on time.
During the last week, he approached me and told me that the work assigned to him was far away from the schedule. I went into an argument with him regarding this situation. He made a sincere apology and told me that he had some issues in the family. Therefore, he could not concentrate on work. I accepted his apology on looking at his circumstances and he assured me that it will not happen again.
I was a bit worried about his situation. If he could have told me earlier, I might have asked another employee on the project.
