Describe a time when you received money as a gift

You should say:

• Money has always been considered a most commendable gift in my country.
• Similarly, I have received money as a gift many times in life.
• But here, I would like to describe a most recent time when I had received money as a gift.
• Well, two weeks ago, my mother and I visited my maternal uncle’s place who recently returned to India from a foreign country after a long time.
• He was very happy to have us there and spend the whole day with us while gossiping and eating.
• In the evening, when we stood up to go back to our home, my uncle gifted me eleven thousand rupees as a gift.
• He also mentioned that he wanted to bring me something from Canada, but he was unable to decide what he should buy.
• Therefore, he decided to give me money as a gift so that I can buy anything of my choice.
• I really liked his decision since at that moment, I was in need of money more than anything else.
• Actually, in the coming days, my friends and I had planned for a Goa trip and I was short with five thousand rupees for the same.
• Since I needed money for the activities we were supposed to do in Goa and for air travel expenses.
• I also did not want to put the burden on my parents for the same, therefore the trip was a bit out of budget for me. 
• However, when my uncle gave me money as a gift, I hugged him tight and thanked him from the core of my heart.
• I was extremely happy because that was really a great help for me.
• It felt like my uncle had sponsored my dream trip.

No, commonly, parents do not give children money for doing housework because in my country, generally it is considered as the parent’s responsibility to do household chores on their own. Children only receive money from their parents in the form of their pocket money on a weekly or monthly basis.

2. Is it important for children to have the right attitude towards money?

Absolutely, it is quite important for children to have the right attitude towards money. If they have a positive attitude towards money, they can understand the importance of financial management in life. This will inculcate the habit of saving in them.

3. What do you think of the saying; love of money is the root of all evil?

I believe this holds true if someone has more inclination towards money because this only attracts more materialism in life which is dangerous. Some people even indulge in wrongdoings for the sake of earning quick money to fulfill their desires.

4. Is it important to teach children how to manage their pocket money?

Undoubtedly, it is important to teach children to manage their pocket money. This way, they can learn how to fulfill their requirements according to their budget. It will help them enormously in their later age to spend wisely and save more. 

5. What kind of occasions require people to send money as gifts?

Well in my country, occasions like weddings, birthdays, retirements and festivals require people to send money as gifts to their near and dear ones.
