take the position

You recently applied for 2 separate jobs. Both have chosen to hire you, but you must write a letter to 1 of them explaining why you are unable to take the position.

Include in your letter:

  • An apology
  • An explanation of your situation
  • tell about future availability

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you about the inability to join your esteemed company. This is because I opted to work at Walmart store.

Kindly accept my sincere apology to turn down your offer. I am aware of the fact that working in your company is a can be a golden opportunity for me. However, due to unforeseeable circumstances, I cannot work at your workplace.

The reason for not joining your company is that I have been allotted night shift, and when the shift ends in the early morning, there is no bus service for the next 3 hours to my house. The other job is quite near to my house that I have accepted.

I hope you understand my situation. Within two months, I have planned to purchase a car for travelling. Once I have that I am looking forward to work opportunity at your organisation.

I regret the inconvenience caused to you and looking forward to a positive reply.

Yours sincerely,

Mike Smith.
