You have just arrived in an English speaking country to study a course. Before you left your English teacher invited you to a dinner
- thank him for the dinner
- tell him about your studies
- say how this advice helped you
Respected Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for the dinner I had before I left England for my further studies.
When I received your invitation to have dinner, it was a moment of great pride to me. I felt so special and instantly accepted your offer. The food was delicious and I liked every dish you served.
As I told you that I came here for my postgraduation in Computer Engineering. It is a totally different atmosphere here for study. All students spend most of their time in the library. Instead of semester exams, our grading is based on the assignments that are submitted during a semester.
Your advice to live in the college hostel was really helpful because it gave me extra time to study. Moreover, as per your recommendation, I joined a social club which organises debates and lectures. It is helping me to furnish my public speaking skills which I desperately wanted to improve.
I hope to meet you soon when I will be back home.
Yours sincerely,
John Smith.
