Dear Simon,
Warm greetings! This letter is written to seek an apology for inability to attend your farewell party that is being organised at Park Plaza Hotel next weekend.
Unfortunately, my cousin’s marriage is on the same day. Therefore, I have to go to Banglore to attend the marriage, and flight tickets have been booked. He assigned me several tasks to look after during marriage ceremony. It is not feasible to be absent from a family event.
Regarding working together, it has been a marvellous experience while working. Your passion, commitment and honestly always inspire young employees, and numerous things can be learned from you such as teamwork, respecting thoughts of your subordinates. For me, you comprise all qualities that are needed for a perfect employee. I hope you would have a prosperous future ahead.
Kindly again accept my apologies for being absent in your farewell party.
