Write a letter including:
- Explaining your situation
- An apology
- Express that you would be interested in the position next summer
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my inability to join a cashier job at your store. I was hired for the next two summer months at the cash counter.
I have received bad news from my mother that my father is severely ill. There is no one at home to take care of them. Therefore, I have decided to move to my home country and spend the next two months with my parents.
I will regret this I have lost an opportunity to work with an esteemed organisation. This would have been a valuable experience for me. Kindly apologise me for this inconvenience.
I wonder if you can allow me to work next summer for the same job. Working with your organisation is a proud moment for anyone and I do not want to lose this opportunity.
I am looking forward to a positive reply.
Yours sincerely,
Mike Smith.
