Today, many big cities in the world are increasing in size.
What are the problems associated with it?
What is the solution to these problems?
Nowadays, the rapid expansion of large cities has been seen around the globe. The primary problem with large cities is that there will be a rise in the crime and the most viable solution to this is to restrict the migration of people to urban areas.
The main issue that big cities face with more people is that there is going to be more crime in urban areas. This is because there are not enough jobs available in the market, and this leaves many migrants unemployed in cities. Therefore, unemployed people use unfair means to earn money so that they can feed their families. To illustrate, a recent study by Delhi University found that the majority of people who came to the national capital for a brighter future did not get a job and 40% of them were often caught doing illegal activities.
To tackle this issue, the migration of people from rural areas to cities should be curbed. If people have good employment opportunities near their home, most will not move to cities. This will stop the migration of people and cities will be less crowded and consequently, there will be a lower crime rate in the cities. For example, I live in a rural area and there are three big companies where many local people work. These companies have stopped many = youngsters to go to cities in search of a better future.
In conclusion, the increase in the size of cities is a major concern as this raises the crime rate in cities and the most effective solution to this problem is to stop the migration of people from other parts of the country into major cities.
