It is often argued that in order to curb epidemics, states ought to expend more efforts in curtailing air and water pollution and housing woes. This essay totally agrees with that statement because many diseases stem from these problems.
Firstly, it is the fact that air and water contamination is the principal cause of some ailments, such as asthma. This is because when we inhale contaminated air and drink polluted water daily, our health starts deteriorating and end up having some dangerous diseases. Therefore, the utilization of fund on reducing environmental pollution will make people more healthy and prevent diseases. For example, the capital city, Delhi, has the largest number of asthma patients due to poor quality air, and that is why now the current Delhi government has started purifying the air.
Secondly, providing shelter to everyone is a huge problem, especially in developing nations, and people have to live in unhygienic conditions, leading them having infectious diseases, such as TB. Therefore, to make people free from this kind of diseases, the state should firstly tackle this predicament by allocating some funds to provide concrete houses for people living in slum areas. For instance, the Sunday Times reported that disease like TB, are more common in those who live in harsh and unsanitary conditions.
In conclusion, to curb ailments, nations should control pollution and solve housing problems because both are the leading causes of increasing diseases among people the world over.
