Some people do not mind spending their leisure time with their colleagues while some people prefer to keep their private life separate from their work life.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Many individuals expend their free time with their teammates, while others do not like to mix up their personal life and professional life. Although some people are conscious about their private life and keep it separate from work life, this essay believes that spending leisure time with co-workers actually builds up a good relationship with them.
On the one hand, there are some employees who avoid to spend free time with their colleagues because they are very conscious. This is because they are aware of certain things, which could lead to them having conflicts with their teammates. Therefore, they always avoid to be with their team members after their job. For instance, it has been found in a recent survey by The Sunday Times that employees who usually spend their leisure time with other co-workers are 32% more likely to have conflicts later. However, I disagree with this viewpoint because of the following reason.
On the other hand, it is thought that expending some time after work actually strengthen their relation with their teammates. This is because when they hang out together, they can get to know each other very well. As a result, they can become good friends. For example, I spend my weekends’ evening time with my colleagues and we generally eat out together. Consequently, I have built up a wonderful relation with them. I believe this school of thought is more preferable because it gives us a chance to become friends of our teammates.
In conclusion, although keeping personal life separate from work life can avoid certain conflicts with other workers, I believe it is a great way to strengthen the relationship with other employees.
