It is believed by scientists that more fast food is being consumed by people and it actually has a detrimental effect on people’s health. Many argue that education is the most viable solution to this issue, while others say that educating people will not have a significant impact. While people show a little interest in reading about a healthy diet, I believe that educating people about unhealthy eating would have a great impact.
On the one hand, people who think that education is not going to solve this problem argue that people do not read articles related to health. This is because they do not find it interesting to read them. For example, a recent report published by the New York Times stated that only 10% of people visited their website’s pages related to healthy food news. However, I do not agree with this school of thought because of the reason elucidated below.
On the other hand, there are those who believe that educating people will have a deep impact on their mind. This is due to the fact that people trust in the research findings of scientists and on reading articles related to diet habits learn drawbacks of eating excessive fast food. To illustrate, I personally read a number of news about healthy diet plans and after opting new diet, I saw a significant improvement in my health. Therefore, I think that this school of thought is preferable because of peoples’ belief in research work particularly in healthy diet choices.
In conclusion, although people show a little interest in reading about health, I believe that if people read and understand it well, they do not hesitate to make changes to their eating habits.
