Nowadays online shopping is rapidly replacing physical shopping in-store.
Do benefits outweigh the drawbacks?
These days the trend of internet shopping is increasing over the traditional way of shopping which is visiting shops in the market. This essay would argue that despite there being some issues related to the condition of the actual product, the benefit of time being saved during online shopping far outweighs any drawback.
The main disadvantage of buying products from e-commerce websites is that it is not feasible to see the product in real. Due to this, there is a concern among visitors of an online store about the quality of finish and texture of any commodity sold. To illustrate, a recent study by Cambridge University found that nearly 30% of people who bought something online were always worried about the quality of products. However, the return and refund option is given to customers in case they are not satisfied with the quality of the product.
Despite this drawback, online shopping actually saves a lot of time. This is because there is no need to commute to any physical store and all shopping can be carried out with the touch of a button with comparing price and other features of similar items. I personally prefer to buy online which saves enough time for me to spend it on other work. Therefore, I think that internet shopping is more worthy because most shopkeepers keep a limited variety of products to compare with.
In conclusion, online shopping saves us time which far outweighs the supposed disadvantage of concerns about the quality of the product.
