Nowadays a few people take their family with them abroad whenever they go on a business trip.
What are the advantages and disadvantages for them and for their family?
These days, some individuals take family members to a foreign country when they have to attend any business meeting. The main benefit of taking the family on a business trip is a great way to spend time with family along with work and the major drawback is that official meetings can disrupt the plan of enjoying together.
The primary advantage for people to embark an official trip with their families is that they can combine this with an outing with their families. In this way, they can experience a new culture of the host country and get to know about the country’s customs and traditions. Therefore, business meetings are a great chance for individuals to spend quality time with their families. For example, a recent survey by Cambridge University found that nearly 30% of people who went on a business trip with their families admitted that these trips enabled them to spend time with beloved ones.
The major disadvantage of going with families is that many they are stuck in the hotel and wait for their family member come back from the meeting. This is because business meetings often last for long hours and they can be late to come back to their cottage. The family feel bored as they cannot outside without their main family members they have planned to go together. To illustrate, I went with my family to Singapore and my father had to attend a meeting which lasted for hours and he came back late at night. It shattered our plans to go outside to see beautiful landscapes and we were stuck in the hotel.
In conclusion, the main merit of bringing families on a trip is people can show their family a foreign nation and spend time with them, and demerit is that meetings can ruin the plans of going out.
