Many young people regularly change their jobs over the years. What are the reasons for this? Is it a positive deveopment or negative.
It is quite prevalent that these days, young individuals alter their employments frequently over the years. This essay believes that the corporate culture is the primary reason of this phenomenon and it is a very negative development.
The main reason why youngsters regularly change their work is because of the culture of companies. This is because most of the organizations put pressure on new employees to meet some monthly targets at the expense of extra working hours, whereas many youngsters want work-life balance in their careers. This encourages young people to look for another job that can be more suitable than their current positions. For instance, it has been found in a recent study by The Sunday Times that 42% of new workers change their jobs more often because they want work-life balance in their employment careers.
This is a negative development because it affects the progress of their careers. This is because when young employees regularly move to another company, they cannot acquire in-depth knowledge about job related skills. Therefore, it can be said that by regularly changing their workplace, young individuals can slow down their careers’ progress. For example, my cousin who started working five years back kept on altering his job. Consequently, he has achieved nothing in his career and has not learned any skill.
In conclusion, youngsters regularly change their workplaces because they want to work in those companies that allow work-life balance and it negatively affects their careers by slowing down the progress of their careers.
