Many people work long hours, leaving very little time for leisure activities.
Does this situation have more advantages or more disadvantages?
It has been seen that people tend to spend more than 40 hours per week at their offices and this results in minimal time left for them to do some free time activities. This essay will suggest that despite there being benefit of people earn extra income when they work more time at workplace, the drawback is they do not have some time for themselves far outweighs any benefit.
The main advantage of spending some extra hours at work gives working class people a chance to increase they monthly income. This is because companies pay extra bucks and bonuses to their employees who tend to work in long shifts. Due to this, many people opt to work overtime for more earning. For example, in India, companies give an extra payment to employees who prefer to work after official timings and this gives people a chance to earn some extra money.
The major disadvantage associated with working long at offices leaves no time for people to pursue their hobbies. This is because they are too exhausted when they come back late at night to their residence after work. It becomes very diffcult for them to manage the little time that they have and therefore, they cannot afford do free time activites such as going gym or do exercise or read a book. To illustrate, I worked in a multinational company and there, I opted to work in 12 hour shift and this resulted in, I had a very little time to pursue my hobbies which I dreamed during college days.
In conclusion, working extra hours at office, people can reap the benefit of having increased income, however, this situation does not allow people to do activites which they think to do for themselves.
