International travel has many advantages to both the travellers and the country visited.
Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
It is believed that when people travel to foreign countries, it has numerous benefits to both tourists as well as the host nation. This essay will argue that despite being some dangers that travellers being robbed while they purchase souvenirs and excessive problems of garbage at tourist destinations in the country, I think to learn about a nation’s way of living and economic advantage to the country far outweigh any drawbacks.
The main disadvantage to travel abroad to tourists is that the local people often shell out more money from travellers when they buy some gift items because they are not aware of the actual price. The main problem associated with the host nation is that filth shattered by tourists when they visit tourist destinations. They throw their waste anywhere they like, and this ruins the aesthetic value of the destination. For example, a recent study by Cambridge University found that in the UK, the souvenirs sold at tourist places were 20% higher than their actual price, and increased tourism created a problem of waste management. However, I believe that there are more benefits to travelling and the country they visit.
Despite this drawback, I believe that travelling to other countries helps people to experience new cultures and traditions. The host country can reap the benefit by collecting the taxes from tourists when they visit their nation. In addition to this, the local people open shops near to the tourist’s hotspots, which helps them to earn their livelihood. To illustrate, every year thousands of people around the world visit Thailand to experience a unique culture, and tourism has been playing an important role in the economy of Thailand.
In conclusion, exploring new cultures and their traditions, and economic benefits to the country far outweigh the supposed disadvantages of tourists being robbed when they buy local items, and issue of garbage generated with more tourists.
