The main reason why such books and television shows are gaining popularity is that they are interesting to read and watch. I believe that it is good for society because they aware people about possible criminal activities happening in the world.
The novels and TV series based on criminal activities are quite intriguing. This is because the writer and director make the storyline unpredictable, which actually helps people to engage. As a result, people give an overwhelming response to books and shows based on crimes. For example, a finding by Times Now revealed that crime shows on Netflix, such as Narcos, Bodyguard has much more viewership as compared to other genre shows and movies.
It is beneficial to read and watch crime-related stories because this makes us aware of our surroundings. This is because crime stories are mostly based on true incidents. Viewing and reading such things will force us to think critically if someone finds something is not good. In this way, we become more cautious about what is happening around us. Recently, a report was published in a newspaper that a female saved herself from criminals because she used the tactics from a crime book that she was reading.
