In many countries, people are living in a “throwaway society” where things are used for a short time and thrown away. What are the causes of this and what problems does it lead to?
It is quite common that these days, individuals use and throw away many products after a short period of time in many nations. This essay believes that the major cause of this trend is the mass production of goods and the main problem of this is pollution.
The prominent reason people throw away items frequently is the availability of an unlimited number of products because of mass production. This is to say that after the advancement in mechanical and IT fields, prices of commodities are not high enough and the public has more options than ever before. As a result, men and women employ their products, such as clothes, gadgets, and vehicles, for a short time and replace them with new ones. For instance, it has been shown in a recent study by WHO that people throw away things more often than ever before because of the availability of a number of affordable items.
The principal woe of this phenomenon is that it leads to depleting the environment. This is because after using their goods for a short time, people throw them away, which put a harmful effect on the atmosphere. This results in polluting the environment by contaminating air and water. For example, in China, 48% of the people change their mobiles and clothes within six months that is contaminating their atmosphere.
In conclusion, men and women throw away their products after utilizing them for a short period of time because of the availability of so many pocket-friendly products and this seriously depletes the quality of the environment.
