In many countries, day by day rubbish (garbage) is increasing.
Why is it happening?
What can be done?
In many nations, daily household waste is on the rise. This essay will suggest that the modern lifestyle is the main reason why more waste is being produced at houses and the solution to this problem is by spreading awareness in public about the dangers of this kind of lifestyle.
The primary reason for the rise in waste from houses is that people have adopted throw-away culture. This is due to that fact that the average income of families has increased significantly and there is the easy availability of products in the market. As a result, people are spending more and discard newly bought items after short usage which is producing huge leaps of garbage in cities. For example, a recent study by Cambridge University found that in the last 10 years, the amount of rubbish has increased as more people adopted the wasteful lifestyle due to better income and unnecessarily spending.
To curb this problem, the government and media should launch public awareness programs about how people are damaging the planet by producing more waste. This would shed some light on peoples’ mind that huge garbage mountains are dangerous for natural habitat. Due to these campaigns, people can modify their daily routine producing less waste. For example, in New Delhi, an awareness campaign was launched by the government about waste management and this resulted in a 30% reduction in daily household waste.
In conclusion, a rise in the waste in urban areas is a serious problem for many nations and this has occurred because people have adopted the wasteful lifestyle, and the best way to curb it is by teaching people about the mistakes they are doing.
