In schools and workplaces, people are given feedback and evaluated for their work which is not liked by many of them. The main cause of this problem is that people do not like to be observed by their seniors and the most viable solution is to educate people about the benefits of this method.
The main problem associated with this trend is that people feel they are being monitored for their work. This tends to create insecurity among them that they are not working efficiently at work or in the study. Therefore, they try to avoid being given comments and being assessed for their work. To illustrate, a recent survey by Cambridge University found that 40% of people working in the industry do not like to get any type of feedback and being evaluated at work.
To tackle this problem, a public awareness campaign should be launched to teach individuals about the merits of being assessed and giving feedback. This would shed some light on the merits of this procedure that this will help to improve them at work or in their studies. Consequently, this will increase efficiency at work and grades in the school. For example, during my college days, my teachers often told me about my strengths and weaknesses by evaluating my exams, and they also suggested me how to overcome my shortcomings which helped me to get higher grades in all terms.
In conclusion, disliking towards getting feedback and being evaluated is because people assume that authorities are continuously keeping an eye on their performance, and individuals must be taught that this is done for their benefits.
