Nowadays more and more people read news on the Internet. Nevertheless, newspapers will remain an important source of news and information for the majority of people.
Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
These days, an increasing number of people are reading news from online media platforms. However, many will prefer reading from newspapers as it is a vital source of daily bulletins and knowledge for them. This essay agrees with this statement because newspapers have a trustworthy image among masses and there are some health concerns associated while reading from websites.
The main reason why people will read from newspapers in the future is that people trust the news published in them. This is because the majority of people feel that many news websites on the internet spread fake news which can lead to having distort views about the world’s events. Therefore, they consider reading news from the main publication houses. For example, a recent survey by MIT found that nearly 30% of people admitted that they are going to read from newspapers in coming years because when they read online, many times they found that the news they read was not authentic.
Another reason for this is that many people have to face issues related to health such a headache and weak eyesight. This is because when people constantly stare at a screen to read the news, this puts a strain on the eyes which causes pain in the head. If people regularly use electronic devices for a prolonged time to read news, it may cause eyesight weakness. However, reading from a newspaper has no such issues. To illustrate, a study by Cambridge University found that people who use a screen to read news online are more likely to suffer from health issues.
In conclusion, there is no doubt many people are opting to read online news, however, majority of people will read from newspapers because people believe in the articles published by newspapers and there are certain issues with health with reading online.
