It is argued that healthy, physically fit sportspersons and teams can perform their best in order to achieve success, while others say that status of mind is as much important as other traits. While a physically strong player or a team can play at their best, I believe that mental status plays a vital role to win games.
One the one hand, health facilitates the players and teams to perform at their top level. This is because a little effort is required to become successful in their respective games as they do not have to worry about health conditions. For example, Ussian Bolt admitted in a recent interview that he was physically sound since his childhood days, and he directed his energy in the right direction to become the world’s fastest athlete. However, I do not agree with this school of thought because of the reason elucidated below.
On the other hand, mental status is an important factor while playing games because the state of mind can be a deciding factor. If sportspersons or teams play with the attention of winning a game, they can do miracles in the ground. To illustrate, Afganistan Cricket Team did miracles in recent years as while playing international games they beat a number of a world-class team due to their positive attitude in the ground. Therefore, I believe that this thought is more preferable because the status of mind while playing can make new histories.
