You are about to move to an English-speaking country to study. You have a friend living there and you want to find a part-time job.
Write a letter to your friend
– Explaining your scholar plans,
– Your reasons to get a part-time job,
– Suggest how he/she can help you find a job.
Dear Simon,
Hope you find this letter in the best of your health and prosperity. I am delighted to inform you that my application for Postgraduation in Computer Science has been accepted by the ‘University of Toronto’.
The session is going to start in January and I think it would be better to arrive 10 days before the beginning of the session as it will help me to understand the atmosphere of the country.
As per the curriculum, I will have only 4-hour classes on weekdays and therefore, after lectures, I will be free. Thus, I request to assist me in finding a job in the local area. Please go through the local newspaper for vacancies available for the part-time computer operators. Also, I urge you to contact employers on my behalf. The job will not only help to assist in arranging funds for my studies but also I will become familiar with the local culture and tradition.
Looking forward to your reply. Convey my regards to your parents.
Thanking you.
John Smith.
