Some people spend a lot of money for their wedding ceremonies. However, others feel it is unnecessary to spend a lot.
Discuss both viewpoints and give your own opinion.
Some would argue that it is correct for couples to throw large parties on their wedding day, while others believe that it is wastage of hard-earned money. While marriage day comes once in a lifetime to share the joy with loved ones, I believe that the wedding couple has to face monetary issues in the coming years.
Many couples seek marriage as a special day to make it memorable for their entire life. Due to this, people who are marrying plan to spend an enormous amount of money on the wedding day. They are often influenced by elite people who spend lavishly on organising the royal parties in big hotels. For example, a recent study showed that 52% of wedding couple admitted to organising a large gathering on their marriage when they were shown royal parties. It is not deniable that marriage is a special day for everyone; however, people must have to think about future consequences of big parties.
After marriage ceremonies, there is a huge financial burden on a married couple which takes years to repay to lenders. Therefore, both have to work day and night to earn money for livelihood and loan repayment. For instance, if you want to organise a large reception at your wedding, in India, you would have to spend at least Rs. 10,00,000 for a decent gathering; and it takes around five years to the repayment of the loan. In spite of this, people still go for organising large marriages, even they face finance insecurities in future.
In conclusion, although the wedding day is an important occasion for everyone, the people who are marrying, must consider the money factor while organising wedding parties.
