Canada looking to begin focusing on certain occupations in Express Entry draws in 2023.

IRCC says that the Bill will allow Canada to invite Express Entry candidates on a new basis, one that would support an economic goal identified by the minister.

The improvements to Express Entry, according to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, will assist Canada choose immigrants who are already well-positioned for economic success. Even though Express Entry already gives Canada a competitive edge, the minister indicated there is still opportunity for improvement.

The Bill gives the immigration minister the power to extend invitations to applicants who possess any desirable skills or qualifications.

The candidates will still be selected based on their overall ranking, but the process for picking and inviting candidates is changing a little bit.
