Man, through ages, has undergone many changes due to the technological advancements, and one can do a task within a few minutes, which was impossible in the past times. There is no doubt that every generation is different from the other. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss some differences, which I believe are different between my age and my parents.
First of all, I think my generation is much familiar with modern technology compare to my parent’s generation. At that time, technology was not advance as it is today, and life was too simple in the past. With the advent of computers and the internet over the past few decades, our world has deluged with machines and digital devices, which makes people’s life luxurious and comfortable. Moreover, now everyone has their smartphones to communicate with others, while in the past, it was possible only through public telephones and just for the urgent messages and only elite class people afford for their phones. For instance, I remember when I was a child, my mother goes to a public booth to communicate with my grandparent’s, and she used to wait for an hour in a long queue for her turn.
Secondly, in the past, there were not so many opportunities for study, as today. Our parents did not have a chance for their higher studies if they had a strong desire for it. On the other hand, children of now fortunate to have a chance for high-level education and have better job opportunities. Consequently, we can take our decisions independently, while our parents had always followed their parent’s orders. For example, my generation can choose the field which they want to pursue as well as we can also Choose our life partner by ourselves.
In conclusion, there are always differences between generations, and I think it is for the best. Now we have better technology, education, job opportunities as compare to past and these advancements have made our life easy and comfortable.
